This course is for relevant personnel including electricians, electrical technicians, engineers, technical executives, supervisors, etc., handling the design, construction, operation, and maintenance work of electrical installations. This course is also suitable for management staff, safety practitioners, owners of electrical installations, and Contractors, etc., to attend and gain a detailed understanding of basic electrical concepts and terms, along with the appropriate actions to be taken to adhere to electrical safety and to ensure the safe management of the facilities, workplace, and living spaces.


Introduction

Knowledge of Electrical Safety is essential to all personnel who are involved in numerous types of built environments such as Residential Premises, Industrial, and Commercial. A comprehensive understanding of the Laws, Regulations, Codes of Practice and the necessary procedures for minimising and/or preventing the incidence of electrical accidents which may affect People, Property and Livestock is invaluable in the context of electrical safety.

Objective

The one-day course covers all relevant basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and codes of practice, along with the corresponding safe approaches to handling electrical wires, equipment and all other types of electrical systems. There will be a heavy emphasis on the discussion of real-world incidents and situations which may arise, in order to effectively prepare participants for dangers which may be encountered during their work. The knowledge retention of participants’ will be ensured in a quantifiable manner through the administration of a MCQ assessment.
